About Coach Brock (Monty)

Hockey has been a part of my life for as long as I could walk. After playing in Canada’s top junior leagues and competing professionally in America and Germany, I’ve had the chance to learn from some incredible coaches—like Kris Knoblauch (now head coach of the Edmonton Oilers) and Cail MacLean (assistant coach with the Calgary Flames). Their coaching styles, leadership, and ability to develop players have been a huge influence on how I approach coaching today.

As a coach, my focus is on helping players build strong fundamentals, improve their game sense, and develop skills they can rely on during competition. I believe in long-term development—working consistently with players over the years to refine their technique and maximize their growth. This approach allows me to build strong relationships with players, offering personal feedback that evolves with their progress.

In my sessions, I incorporate innovative training methods, like resistance and over-speed drills, to help players push past their limits and develop explosive power and resilience. Whether it’s learning proper positioning, mastering new techniques, or simply having fun on the ice, my goal is to create an environment where players feel challenged, supported, and excited to come back.

Beyond the technical side, I want every player to leave practice with more confidence, a deeper love for the game, and the work ethic to keep improving.

Misschien wel de beste skills trainer die er rondloopt.
